This simple Honey Mustard Grilled Salmon is made with just 6-ingredients but packs a ton of flavor. The perfect recipe for summer barbecues or a quick and easy weeknight meal on the grill.

I admit without any kind of resistance to being a mustard addict. I also feel pretty passionately about mustard being the ultimate condiment, but I suspect that’s what you’d expect from a mustard addict…no shame in my game.
If you were to open my fridge right now, the first thing that would jump out at you is the exceptional amount of mustard. Dijon, stoneground, sweet and spicy, honey mustard… I truly believe you can’t have enough mustard.
Now that the weather is warming up, I’m obviously coming up with all of the grilled recipes that also use mustard. I came up with this simple grilled salmon recipe and it’s a new staple in our household!
Why salmon?
Salmon is basically a superfood. It is one of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids which are essential aka your body can’t create them so we have to get them through our diet. It’s also a great source of protein and a variety of vitamins and minerals. It has been shown to help a variety of chronic diseases. Basically, it’s a delicious fish that you should try to incorporate into your diet regularly! (Source)

Here’s What You Need:
- Fresh salmon
- Honey mustard
- Olive oil
- Lemon
- Garlic
- Salt + Pepper
That’s it! Doesn’t get much easier than that!
My Tips for The Best Grilled Salmon
- Allow time to marinate. If you’re in a pinch, you can get by with one hour but I personally like to marinate the salmon overnight so all of the flavor is fully absorbed!
- Use oil. You can either oil your grill or I like to place a piece of tinfoil on the grill and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Make sure your grill is preheated. This goes for all meats – did you know that if your grill or pan isn’t hot enough, your meat will stick to the pan? Make sure you preheat before adding your protein!
- To flip or not to flip? There are differing opinions when it comes to flipping your salmon. My opinion? You do you!
- Don’t overcook. Check your salmon on the early end of cooking and put back on the grill if needed. You’re looking for flaky flesh!

- Yield: 2 servings 1x
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 lbs salmon fillets, skin on if desired
- 2 tbsp honey mustard
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl combine mustard, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and salt and pepper.
- Place salmon filets in a flat-bowl and top with mixture.
- Allow to marinate for at least 1 hour, though longer is better* in the fridge.
- Heat up grill to medium-high heat and grease. I like to place a piece of tinfoil on the grill and spray with olive oil spray.
- Place salmon on grill and cook for 4-6 minutes per side depending on how thick your salmon is. Do not overcook! You’re better off undercooking and putting it back on the grill than overcooking.

*I like to marinate mine overnight for the best flavour.
